Global action for the arts

Sir Michael supports the responsible use of artificial intelligence as tools for artists. Up until 2026, he served as a Co-Lead of the Responsible Artificial Intelligence Network, led by Fellows of the Royal Society of Arts, pushing for transatlantic dialogue regarding AI regulation. In the United States, his work at the Graphic Artists Guild sees him as the East Region Representative, helping advocate for visual artists residing as far down Washington, DC and Virginia to as far north as New York.

Work as a knight

The Philippine Order of the Knights of Rizal sponsors several charitable projects across the globe. Sir Michael actively supports the cultural and community service activities of the Order and the Consulate General of the Philippines in New York. He is a recipient of the Order’s Distinguished Service Medal, Distinguished Service Star, and Distinguished Service Cross. He currently serves as the New York State Area Pursuivant and concurrently as the Manhattan Chapter’s Deputy Chapter Commander.

Advocating for the unhoused and hungry

Growing up as part of a middle income family in a village near the slums, Sir Michael has always been passionate about the people’s right to a proper home and ending hunger everywhere. He has lobbied policymakers on Capitol Hill with Habitat for Humanity, raised funds for Feeding America and for emergency food drives in the Philippines, and has assisted with food packaging drives organized by No Kid Hungry.
